It's funny to me how when God lays something on your heart that he really lays it down thick! I posted my blog yesterday about the how much do we need and what is really important. In that post I mentioned the email that I received just the day before about our next series at church and that it relates to the exact same thing.....well tonight we had our Home Group Bible Study - we are doing the Courageous 4 week study. Week 2 is about Courageous Priorities - and in the section it talks about what really makes someone rich, what's important to you, does your spending align with what's important to you. How does the outside world tempt you into making decisions that don't support your values, do you feel like you are tempted to "Keep Up with the Joneses" and it goes on. Aside from reading the title for this week I hadn't looked ahead in the study so it was a surprise to me that we were talking about these things this week. It just goes to show that when God wants you to do something he pulls out all the stops to make sure you are paying attention and listening.
Now it's time to move into action - time to stop buying recklessly, start purging the old and unused and either sell it to help our family get out of the hole of debt that we have or donate it to people that could actually use it instead of the items just keeping our closet company.
Here's to a year of change with God leading the way!
